“Fans” will be knitted in every sixth loop from the beginning of work, each of them will consist of six columns, which are arranged as follows. First, you need to knit three double crochets into the desired loop. This is followed by an air loop that will connect the tops of two bunches of columns forming a “fan”. Next, three more stitches are knitted, also with two yarn overs, the base of which is the same loop as when knitting the previous bundle. One “fan” is ready. They continue to knit until the end of the row, which should also end with half a “fan”.

Then the product should be turned over and knitting continued in the same way, using air loops in the bottom row to base the “fans”.

Next comes a connecting element of three air loops. Then you need to skip two more loops and attach a single crochet to the third. Thus, a conditionally half of the “fan” is formed, which is needed for the symmetry of the pattern. Then you should retreat two loops and start knitting a whole “fan”.

To do this, you need to knit seven double crochets in the same loop. It is attached to the base with a single crochet, which is knitted with the same indentation in two loops. The connecting elements of this ornament are chains of air loops, three in each. You need to cast on three air loops twice and attach them, again with a single crochet, skipping two more loops at the base. At this point the rapport is completed and you can start knitting the next fan.

In the next row, the fan should expand, so it is knitted using not only stitches, but also air loops. First of all, you need to knit a connecting chain (in three chain loops), it is attached to the bottom row (to the middle of the chain) using a single crochet. Seven single crochets are knitted on the fan, each of them is separated from the previous one by one air loop. The fan column on the far left is also attached to the middle of the chain (of air loops) in the bottom row. Thus, between the fans in a given row there is only room for one chain. At the end of the second row, on the extreme chain you need to knit one single crochet, followed by one air loop, as well as a half single crochet.

In the next third row, the fans need to be staggered. First, a connecting chain of three air loops is knitted - in this case it will imitate one of the parts of the fan. The first fan in this row is only half knitted; it should consist of four stitches. Therefore, on the last chain stitch that ends the bottom row, you only need to knit three double crochets. Then there are two chains (3 air loops each, as before). The first is attached with a single crochet to the loop, which is located between the second and third column of the fan in the second row. The next one is attached to the central post of the same fan. Next, the fans are knitted in the same way as in the first row. You need to complete the row with half a fan - made of four columns. This completes the repeat of the pattern.

There are many fantasy varieties of patterns that allow you to knit openwork and dense fabrics, weave butterflies, cones, flowers and much more into fans.
