Step by step description

1. Choose cardboard colors for production of trains and carriages.

2. Cut out the parts little train, glue them onto whatman paper and cut them out little train.

3. Cut out wheels for trailers, flowers, circles (we draw emoticons on the circles). Glue the wheel parts together.

4. Glue the wheels to the trailer.

5. We place photographs of children in the trailers.

Hi all! I'm finally ready for a master class. Recently my baby turned 1 year old (oh, how time flies...). And, of course, like any mother, I prepared thoroughly for such an important event. After looking at a lot of literature and rummaging around on the Internet, the first thing we decided to do was make a train with photographs. At the same time, make it reusable (to the delight of your friends), since this way you won’t have to print out photographs specifically for the locomotive, but just take them out of the album, insert them into the cars, and after the celebration (a month later, of course;) put them back again (one, where the baby is in the first days of life you will still have to sacrifice). Templates from the children's portal “Sun” http://www.solnet.ee/parents/p1_s176.html were taken as a basis and slightly modified.

What did I change there? Firstly, there are no inscriptions on the trailers about the number of months, but I really wanted them to be there. And the locomotive itself lacks a “reference point” - the baby’s date of birth. Since I’m not an expert at writing by hand, a program that everyone has on their computer helped – Paint. It's quite simple to work with. After you have downloaded and unpacked the archive, go to the folder where you saved the templates. Right-click on the template and select “Open with”, and then select “Paint”.
You will see an image in the window that opens. To create an inscription on the left there is a special button - “A”. Click on it and create any inscription you want, changing the font size and the font itself until you find the right one. Click the mouse anywhere and the inscription is ready. Please note that if you want to change it, you need to create a new one on top of this one or simply erase the unnecessary one using the eraser (the “Eraser/color eraser” button). But what to do if the inscription is not at all in the place you would like? And for this there is a “Selection” button (rectangle at the top). Select the area with the inscription and move it to the desired location. These procedures can be performed ad infinitum))) Secondly, (also using an eraser) I erased the upper border of the wheels. Later I will write why I did this. You can create all 12 cars, or you can, after printing out the car with the first inscription, change the inscription to another here, and print it again. And so 12 times (I did exactly that). The main thing is to remember the size and name of the font so that all the inscriptions match. It is better not to make an inscription with the date of birth on the locomotive itself, but to create it on another sheet, then cut it out and carefully glue it with tape. Otherwise, do not forget to warn your girlfriends about changing this date for their kids.
To print the cars, I used colored printer paper. You can print the non-color version and then color it.

After that, I cut them out (try to cut carefully, because the scraps can still be useful for decorating wheels and carriages). Initially I planned to cut off the excess, but then I decided that it would be easier to immediately cut off the outer part of the wheels of all the trailers.
This is what happened (the top green trailer has already been cut off, then I started working on the rest).

Now let's move on to the wheels. As I said earlier, I erased their upper borders. The reason for this was the idea to make the wheel not just round, but to cut it out using curly scissors. We make 2 templates according to the size of the circles in the wheels.

We outline and cut out 2 circles of each color, but not along the contour, but slightly retreating from it.

This is what happened.

Now we can easily glue on the wheels. Since I didn’t have a glue stick on hand, I used PVA.

Then I put all the trailers under a press (a big book) until they were completely dry. And at this time she began to draw pictures. I found suitable coloring books on the Internet (http://allforchildren.ru/paint/paint_index.php, http://www.raskraska.com/ and others). I tried to choose ones so that on each trailer at least one character would have a gift. I processed them using Paint, copied them, made sure that the height of the drawing suited me, and started printing.
There should be templates for sheets with pictures, but I can’t figure out how to insert them. Please tell me, and I will definitely improve the master class.
I sincerely envy those who have a color printer, because then you can do all the coloring work on a computer and the pictures turn out excellent. I work the old fashioned way. I printed everything out in black and white, glued the drawing onto a sheet of drawing paper for durability (it’s thicker than landscape paper, but not as thick as cardboard), dried it, and started coloring. You can paint with any available materials: gouache, watercolors, colored pencils (like me), felt-tip pens or gel pens.

I've heard good things about working with watercolor pencils. For girls, you can add sparkles. After that, I carefully cut everything out.

I distributed the pictures on the trailers and glued them. At this stage, it’s better not to be lazy and still get a glue stick; with its help, it will be much easier to complete such jewelry work.
It is very important to understand here that pictures serve not only as decoration, but also as a holder for photographs. Therefore, you should distribute them in the corners of the car and apply glue only to the part that is beyond the line, and for a 10*15 photo even further, since such photos go beyond the boundaries of the applied lines. If suddenly after gluing it turns out that the photo is not included, you can take a stationery knife and, inserting it into the resulting holes, widen them a little, CAREFULLY tearing the picture off the car in the right place.

The locomotive itself can be decorated as you wish, because here the pictures serve only as decoration. My locomotive is suitable for both boys and girls. Still, I had to cut out the window and attach there, having previously cut it to the size of the window, a photo of the baby’s first days of life using thin tape on the back side (it then came off very easily).
